Description

This cheesy penne with garlic butter ground beef is a comforting dish that combines rich flavors and creamy textures, perfect for busy families or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for flavor)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a wooden spoon to break it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Once the beef is cooked, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add the unsalted butter to the skillet. Allow it to melt, then stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Mix everything well to ensure the pasta is coated in the cheesy goodness.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired. Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or fresh herbs if you like!

Notes

If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a splash of pasta water to loosen it up.
