Description

This Korean ground beef bowl is a quick and flavorful meal, perfect for busy weekdays. With simple ingredients and easy preparation, it’s a delightful option for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking your rice according to package instructions. This usually takes about 15-20 minutes. If you’re using leftover rice, you can skip this step!
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add your ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  3. Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet. Then, add minced garlic and ground ginger. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Pour this mixture over the beef, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  5. Add in your sliced vegetables and green onions. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the veggies are tender but still crisp.
  6. Serve the beef mixture over the cooked rice in bowls, garnished with extra green onions if desired. Enjoy!
