  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mixture with the cooked noodles. Mix until everything is well coated.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top, followed by the French fried onions. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
